Chinese eCommerce giant JD.com announces new accelerator program for blockchain startups

JD.com, one of China’s largest e-commerce companies, is launching a new accelerator program for AI and blockchain startups. The new business accelerator is named AI Catapult, the first batch includes six companies: Bankorus, CanYa, Bluezelle, Nuggets, Republic Protocol and Devery. JD.com is well known in China, and it operates a sponsored AI research lab called the SAIL JD AI Research Institute with the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory.

In December 2017, JD.com, Walmart, IBM and Tsinghua University announced they had formed an alliance to leverage blockchain to help enhance food safety.
