South Korea tests blockchain customs clearance system for imports and exports

Korea Times reported that Korea Customs Service (KCS) is testing a blockchain customs clearance system for international goods. The KCS is building a blockchain-based customs data platform and has recruited testers ― five working groups and 50 companies on the exporting side and five working groups and 10 companies in Vietnam and Singapore on the importing side ― to test the system. The goal is to boost accuracy and transparency in issuing Certificates of Origin, an international electronic document used to verify exporters, importers, goods and other details.
